Biography
Coolade (not to be confused with later group Kool-Aid) were a young trio from Christchurch who performed in and around the local All-Ages scene in 2005. Formed by former Hype! members Joe Sampson and Neil Robinson, adding Adam Gosney from The Blow Charlie.
As a teenage group the trio wore their influences heavy on their sleeve, coming across as a fairly typical alternative rock group – however each member had considerable talent and the group came about during what was a particularly fruitful period for Christchurch high school aged groups.
Neil Robinson established himself as a talented graphic artist, initially finding his footing by designing local gig posters before eventually moving to England, whilst Sampson formed the respected Melted Ice Cream indie label and found success with Salad Boys.
