Biography
A 3 song 7″ lathe cut release (produced by Peter King at his original Geraldine location) from Bev Greene, aka Nova Technova, aka Anastasia Strapon. Greene usually performed alongside her partner Donald Campbell (aka Don Gone) in Thee Strapons, and Don was a member of high-voltage 1970’s throw-back rock’n’rollers The Hi-Tone Destroyers.
Anastasia Strapon is the culmination of many months of recovery after 3/5ths of Thee Strapons were wiped out by a virulent strain of hypocrisy, lies and deceit. Anastasia has risen like the battler she is to gain a healthy respect in the lower regions of Rock’N’Roll history. A girl with the intestinal fortitude to get out and groove – without the bollocks. Dar you believe your ears – something this honest – coming from this small island.
Back-cover declaration from the ‘For what it’s worth’ single.
The single features the A side ‘For what it’s worth‘ – a slick stripped back rock’n’roll number with witty lyrics and vocal call-backs to The Stooges. The b side kicks off with Greene’s version of the Sonics classic Psycho – replete with drum-machine fills and a great vocal take. Rounding out the release is the instrumental original ‘Big in Japan’. Both originals were eventually included on ‘Death by Dogma‘, a compilation release out out by the Anti-Vivisection Society.
