Biography
F In Math is the solo electronic project of Michael Logie, a founding member and bassist of Auckland punk band The Mint Chicks and later a member of Die! Die! Die!. Operating under the F In Math banner, Logie crafts computer-generated compositions that sit apart from his work in those guitar-driven outfits, embracing a lo-fi bedroom-electronic aesthetic.
In 2011, F In Math released the Couch EP through Flying Nun Records (catalogue number FNCD511), aligning the solo electronic project with one of New Zealand’s most storied independent labels. The release marked a notable moment of convergence between Flying Nun’s expanded contemporary roster and Logie’s ongoing experimentation outside his band work.
