Parmentier

the abstract electronic recordings of former thela duo rosy parlane and dion workman. initially started as an outgrowth of thela (the duo had split from guitarist dean roberts) whereby parlane played drums and manipulated tape-loop and workman played guitar, usually with a drone focus, and sustaining frequencies.

starting the sigma label to release their material, the duo quickly settled into a minimal electronic-music sound, a label the duo are quick to dismiss as too narrow. since essentially disbanding in the late 1990s (both parlane and workman globe-trotting after their initial move to melbourne) the duo continue to release material – parlane in particular finding a lot of success with his solo recordings and as pit viper, and their finely crafted sigma label releases are gaining more and more attention in underground circles.
