Biography

The Wait were a New Zealand band active in the mid-1980s, releasing two EPs on Ode Records in 1985. Their debut EP The Walls featured the song ‘The Burma Road‘, which gained commercial radio airplay, while Tony Doe’s song ‘Compassion to Passion‘ was included on the Ode Records compilation All Dressed Up And No Place To Play (1984). Both EPs were self-produced by the band and recorded at The Lab Studios.

After the group’s demise, Tony Doe released a solo LP under the name Dough Boys on Ode Records, before travelling to Japan where he performed with Inaka Rebels, followed by a long stint in the UK. He eventually returned to New Zealand and formed group The Reactions.
