PseudoArcana is an underground experimental record label founded in Masterton, New Zealand around 2000 by sound artist Antony Milton. Operating primarily through limited-edition CD-R releases, the label has grown to more than 130 releases spanning experimental, drone, ambient, and avant-garde music, with a roster including Pumice, Seht, The Stumps, Purple Pilgrims, Paintings of Windows, and Peter Wright.
High Street Project was a long-running art gallery set up as an artist-run, not for-profit project with a particular focus on emerging artists. Housed by multiple venues (in and around Christchurch’s High Street) over the course of 19 years, it also functioned as a performance space for a number of underground or experimental acts prior to the Canterbury Earthquakes of 2010 – 2011.

Extremely wild Dunedin old-school rock’n’roll from a handful of underground experimental or lo-fi musicians. I managed to catch them once at the Provincial Lounge in Christchurch and was blown away by their stage antics; which included jumping on the Prov’s bar, kicking over drinks.
