Biography
Sleepy Age were a Christchurch indie pop band formed in 2009. Drawing on dreamy, lo-fi aesthetics and hazy melodicism, the band built a small but devoted following through energetic live performances and a handful of well-regarded recordings.
The group won the RDU 98.5FM Round-Up competition, a Christchurch battle-of-the-bands that historically served as an early launchpad for local talent. Their Fuck Yr Friends EP (2010) and the Décor single (2011) captured a sound that was simultaneously sun-bleached and melancholic. Several members went on to form Yumi Zouma, the internationally successful dream-pop act.
