The horse bazaar is an important remnant of the early period of Canterbury's history. Having been utilised for other ventures since the century old building remains standing, thanks to the Christchurch City Council who upgraded the building in exchange for an historic covenant.
In January 2009, the venue has been reopened as The Bedford.
The Wunderbar
The Wunderbar prides itself on oddity and is one of the most unique bars in New Zealand. People come from afar to see the infamous dolls heads and other strange items and antiques scattered throughout. Others just want to be part of the great atmosphere that the bar, staff and live entertainment provides. To be bored is unheard of, in fact saying the 'b' word is almost blasphemic and should only be whispered to those you trust.
