After Nocturnal Projections went their seperate ways in the early 80s, the two Jefferies brothers formed This Kind Of Punishment, a group that expanded their song-writing capabilities, and added variety to the Joy Division-styled approach of their former group.
Excellent post-punk four piece that came out of small-town Taranaki in 1981, featuring the first recordings of Peter Jefferies haunting baritone vocals. Over the course of 2 years the group released 2 demo cassettes, 3 EPs and a terrific single before disbanding, giving way to later group This Kind of Punishment.

Lanky was a short-lived group formed by former Jean-Paul Sartre Experience singer-songwriter Jim Laing. The group put out an album on the then-fledgling Arch Hill Recordings label in 2000 before disappearing, with Laing's backing band all going on to David Kilgour's Heavy Eights.
