Slipstream

Christchurch-based spacey rock troop who have been around quite a while, without ever really breaking past their strong Christchurch base. Although the group have cycled through a handful of bassists over time (the most recent being Pete Fleming – a skilled jazz bassist), they’ve currently reverted back to their original configuration of twin guitarist/vocalists Nic Fitzgerald and Bruce Harland, drummer Joseph Veale and original bassist Ben Edwards – who’s returned from a stint in Melbourne with his other group Degrees K

Degrees K

former christchurch (later melbourne based) pop-rock 3-piece outfit who would describe themselves as having complicated melodies and soaring vocals. while true, there’s an element of emo pretentiousness i just can’t get past. they had a student radio hit back here with ‘travolta on my shoulder’ before releasing their debut lifelike and then re-locating.
