Midnight Kitchen is an organic, ear friendly, free range, do it yourself band with 3-part vocal harmonies, drums, keyboard, bass, guitar and folk instruments. Following in the footsteps of dreamers like Burt Munro, these five musicians from Invercargill have aspirations of living their own dream: writing, recording and performing their original music to lucky crowds around New Zealand. They have spent the past winter months writing new material, organising a tour and finishing a debut EP in their do-it-yourself home studio.

I first picked up a guitar prior to going on my OE in 2002. For some of the time I was away I lived on an island in the south of Britain and was lucky enough to be surrounded by talented musicians who influenced my style and introduced me to some traditional British folk (Nic Jones, Vin Garbutt), and some more recent stuff. After acquiring a taste for performing whilst busking and playing in pubs throughout the UK, I returned home (with the help of some Christmas-time busking to help with the flight) and continued playing on the local music scene.

Motorsheep, renowned for their quirky melodic sensibilities and pounding rhythm section have flirted between underground cult status and shameless self promotion. their independent status and do-it-yourself attitude allowed them to embrace a niche market for their raw, power-pop sound. Innovative and creative they approached recording sessions and gigging with integrity and humour closely resembling naivety and inexpreience. Combining personal politics with emotional purity, a soundtrack of self discovery and search for identity.
