4-piece electronically fused and goth-tinged industrial act out of christchurch. formed out of the remains of valerie violet, locking cycle took the recommended step of honing their live performance for several months before appearing live around christchurch, and it made all the difference. its good to see a local band with a real ear for song structure and dynamic changes in sound – their quite eclectic, especially for a band built on sampled drum patterns. some excellent girl and guy vocals from eva rosella and tristen deschain, big, fuzzy bass from armand, esoteric guitar playing from deschain, coupled with washes of synth from rosella and the bubbling electric sounds of their eletro-drum guy simon st. marcus.
