another band that could claim the title as new zealand’s most popular band at one point in the 90s, head like a hole were a scunge-rock outfit routed in metal and rock’n’roll with flourishes of country, a line-up of 6 foot tall plus musicians (mark hammill, nigel ‘booger’ bezley, andrew durno and nigel regan), a loudmouth backwater sleeze as a frontman and a penchant for playing nude in public (though they were often in the shadow of fellow wellingtonian’s shihad (now pacifier). 4 albums over 10 years, a couple of arrests caught on tape and one of new zealand’s most expensive ever music video’s (for a non-album b-side cover, no less!) before eventually going their seperate ways, they were truely a fun band to behold.
